Ninh Binh – The Gem of Vietnam
Lying south of the Hanoi on the edge of the Red River Delta, Ninh Binh is increasingly popular among those seeking a genuine experience of Vietnam outside of the urban centers. While Ninh Binh is on flat terrain, just outside of town is a large area of limestone Karst Mountains. Today, this uniquely scenic geography is a major part of many visitor activities.
Here, you can sit back for a boat ride tracing a stream running through rice fields backed by the steep walls of surrounding Karst Mountains. The stream has formed passageways through the limestone itself, allowing you and your boat to duck carefully underneath massive mountains and pop out into the sun again on the other side. Cycling is another popular activity, with inviting pathways running into narrow valleys to reach hidden temples and surprising caves.
